"Drugs Are Enemy Nations' Terror Plan!" PM Modi Launches Nationwide 100-Week 'Nasha Mukt' Campaign

In a major push toward building a healthy and strong younger generation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the nationwide ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ through video conferencing. Addressing over one crore young citizens across more than 10,000 locations in the country, PM Modi urged the nation's youth-especially Gen-Z-to stay physically and mentally fit, completely avoid substance abuse, and lead a powerful mass movement against drug addiction. He emphasized that for India to achieve its goal of becoming a fully developed nation (Viksit Bharat) by 2047, its younger generation must remain confident, healthy, and drug-free.

Warning the nation against the dangerous networks behind illicit narcotics, the Prime Minister stated that drug trafficking is part of a deliberate "terror plan" orchestrated by hostile foreign forces looking to weaken India's rising economic strength by trapping its youth. He noted that when a young person falls into addiction, it ruins their personal health, drains family savings, destroys future careers, and hurts the entire nation's security. PM Modi appealed to families not to hide addiction cases out of social fear or stigma, and called upon school teachers and university professors to talk openly with students and start active anti-drug movements across educational campuses.

The launch marks the beginning of a massive 100-week nationwide Jan Bhagidari (public participation) campaign against substance abuse. Over the next 100 Sundays, youth-led awareness activities including sports matches, walkathons, yoga sessions, street plays (nukkad nataks), and creative competitions will be organized every week across every state. Led by the MY Bharat platform, National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, educational institutes, and over 125 spiritual organizations, this 100-week movement aims to inspire millions of young Indians to take the drug-free pledge and work together to secure a healthy, prosperous future for the country.
