Unemployed Youth Take Over Kakinada Streets - Demand 10,000 Police Posts, Warn of "Chalo Vijayawada" Siege

Hundreds of unemployed youth brought Kakinada to a standstill with a massive march from Kondaiahpalem Bridge to the Collectorate, accusing the government of toying with the lives of educated youth. Led by DYFI, protesters staged a sit-in outside the collectorate, warning they'd teach the government a harsh lesson if recruitment promises are diluted.

The protest was sparked by reports that only 2,500 police posts would be notified. Protesters pointed out that Home Minister Anitha herself acknowledged 19,999 vacancies in the Assembly, while the Recruitment Board sought clearance for 11,639 constable posts. Calling 2,500 posts an insult to lakhs who've spent years preparing, they demanded the drive be expanded to at least 10,000 posts, and that the age limit be relaxed to 35 given no major recruitment has happened in seven years.

Student leaders slammed the newly announced job calendar for having virtually no real opportunities, criticizing politicians who hold ministerial chairs while degree-holders remain jobless, and policies handing government land to corporates without creating local jobs. After submitting their demands to the Collector, DYFI issued an ultimatum: hike posts to 10,000, or youth from every district will march to Vijayawada for an indefinite "Chalo Vijayawada" siege.
