Andhra Pradesh aggressively competed for TCS and HyperVault, but Telangana clinched the 70,000-crore mega project.

Andhra Pradesh was indeed actively courting Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and its data center arm, but Telangana ultimately beat five rival states to secure this specific ₹70,000 crore, 1-gigawatt AI supercomputing campus for Hyderabad. As states across India race to attract high-tech investments, both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been pitching large land parcels, cheap power, and fast clearances to the Tata Group to anchor their digital economies.
Andhra Pradesh has already secured significant commitments from the same company. In July 2026, the Andhra Pradesh government allotted 200 acres of land to TCS and HyperVault in the Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam to build an AI data center intended to support global firms like OpenAI. On top of that, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh earlier finalized an agreement with TCS to establish a major IT development center in Visakhapatnam that will employ up to 10,000 professionals.
Telangana managed to capture this particular ₹70,000 crore mega campus after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy personally pitched Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year. By offering an immediate 264-acre plot in the upcoming "Bharat Future City" on Hyderabad's outskirts along with dedicated green power connections, Telangana moved quickly enough to cross the finish line first for the 1 GW facility.
