US Forces Strike Multiple IRGC Coastal Bases in Southern Iran as Tensions Threaten Strategic Sea Lanes

The United States military has carried out precision strikes targeting key Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military and naval installations across southern Iran, marking an intensification of direct kinetic clashes between Washington and Tehran.
Loud blasts were reported across strategic points along the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman coastlines, including Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Konarak, Chabahar, Jask, Sirik, and Minab. The targeted sites included IRGC naval command nodes, coastal missile batteries, and logistics points associated with maritime interdiction assets.

The military operation follows a rapidly escalating cycle of direct confrontations that began with US strikes on Iranian launch positions on Larak Island, followed by Iran's extensive ballistic missile barrage against the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. CENTCOM stated that the fresh operations aim to degrade the IRGC’s capability to menace commercial maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and threaten allied personnel across the region.

In response, Iranian military commanders warned of immediate countermeasures, asserting that American regional bases and naval deployments remain within range of precision-guided weapons. The widening conflict has raised alarms in international energy markets, with oil traders and maritime security agencies bracing for potential disruptions to critical crude supply corridors passing through the Persian Gulf.
