Bank of America Vice President Erin Piacenti Fatally Stabbed in Times Square Attack

Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old vice president at Bank of America, was killed following a knife attack in New York City's Times Square on Monday afternoon. The fatal incident occurred near West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue, a crowded commercial and tourist hub in Midtown Manhattan.

According to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the attacker, identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros, carried out a random and unprovoked stabbing spree with two large kitchen knives. Cisneros first stabbed a 68-year-old man who had just exited a nearby subway station, before attacking Piacenti moments later. Both victims were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where Piacenti was pronounced dead from her injuries, while the 68-year-old man remains in stable condition with non-life-threatening wounds.

Responding police officers confronted the suspect at the scene and ordered her to drop the weapons. When Cisneros refused to comply and advanced toward the officers while holding the knives, two officers discharged their firearms, fatally striking her. Cisneros was pronounced dead at the scene.

Piacenti, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Fordham University School of Law, served as Vice President of Business Selection and Conflicts at Bank of America. The NYPD Force Investigation Division has launched a full inquiry into the timeline of the attack and the police-involved shooting.
