Possible Gaza Deal Raises Hope, But Peace Is Not Final Yet

A possible deal on Gaza has raised hopes that the war may move closer to an end, but it is still not a final peace agreement. Reports say Hamas has agreed to a roadmap that includes dealing with its weapons, while Israel would gradually withdraw from Gaza if the process moves forward.

U.S. President Donald Trump said an agreement had been reached for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. However, reports suggest the process will happen in stages and will need international monitoring.

In simple words, disarmament means Hamas and other armed groups would give up, store, or remove their weapons. Reports say a Palestinian national committee, along with international observers, may handle and verify the process.

Hamas has not presented this as a one-sided surrender. A Hamas official said implementation would depend on Israel also following the deal, including withdrawal from Gaza and progress on reconstruction.

Israel’s position is still a major question. Some reports said there was no immediate official Israeli response, while another report said Israel felt the proposal did not fully meet its demand for complete demilitarisation of Gaza.

For ordinary people in Gaza, the biggest hope is that this deal can stop violence, allow aid to enter freely, and begin rebuilding homes, hospitals, and schools. But the real test will be action on the ground, not just announcements.
