"Youth Powering India's Job Boom!" 79% of All New PF Accounts in FY26 Generated by Young Workers Aged 18 to 30!

In a powerful sign of young talent driving the nation's formal economy, a massive 79% of all new Universal Account Numbers (UANs) generated during 2025–26 belonged to individuals aged between 18 and 30 years. The 21 to 25 age bracket formed the single largest hiring group, making up over 35% of all new UAN enrollments as fresh graduates and first-time job seekers entered organized employment in record numbers.

The employment data also reveals a major structural shift beyond traditional corporate hubs. Nearly 69% of the new workforce was deployed across Tier-II and Tier-III cities, highlighting how industrial development, manufacturing, and tech services are rapidly expanding into smaller towns. Furthermore, women accounted for nearly 28% of all newly generated UANs during the year, while industry-linked apprenticeships surged under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), with the automotive sector driving over 51% of all training contracts.
