"We Trust India for Our Medicines and Energy!" US Envoy Sergio Gor Hails Win-Win Trade, Calls for Predictable Tax and IP Laws!
Speaking at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) convention in Mumbai, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor highlighted the massive economic synergy between the two nations, calling Indian investments in the United States a clear "win-win" that generates high-quality jobs and expands commercial reach in both countries. Describing the unmatched momentum of the bilateral partnership, Gor noted that in a single morning he held back-to-back discussions with top global industry leaders-including representatives from Meta, Netflix, and Rolls-Royce-demonstrating the unique scale of commercial opportunities flowing through the embassy.
The US envoy stressed that profound mutual trust forms the foundation of America's reliance on Indian industries, pointing out that 40% of all generic pharmaceuticals consumed in the US and a massive 40% increase in bilateral LNG and LPG energy flows originate from India. To unlock the next phase of economic growth-aiming to push bilateral trade from over $240 billion today toward a $500 billion target by 2030-Gor urged both governments to resolve lingering friction points by implementing predictable taxation systems, stable regulatory policies, streamlined technology export controls, and robust intellectual property (IP) protections to help innovators invest and scale fearlessly.
