"Massive 100-Day Gift for Farmers!" TN CM Vijay Announces Mega Crop Loan Waiver Up to ₹75,000 in Assembly, 13.34 Lakh Families to Benefit!

To mark his 100th day in office, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced a major expansion of the state’s cooperative crop loan waiver scheme in the Legislative Assembly under Rule 110, delivering massive financial relief to the agricultural community. Calling farmers the true lifeline of Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister declared that all cooperative farm loans up to ₹75,000 will be 100% completely waived, lifting a heavy debt burden off rural households right ahead of the upcoming sowing season.

Under the newly structured relief package, farmers holding outstanding dues between ₹75,000 and ₹1 lakh will receive a waiver of up to ₹75,000 and will only need to settle the remaining balance, while those with agricultural loans exceeding ₹1 lakh will receive a fixed relief amount of ₹35,000. This expansion injects an additional ₹953.06 crore from state coffers to include over 1.38 lakh extra cultivators, taking the total overall government relief to a massive ₹6,220 crore that directly benefits 13.34 lakh farmers across Tamil Nadu.
