"Petrol Pump Shock Incoming!" Brent Crude Shoots Near $89 as Vital Hormuz Sea Route Sees Zero Tanker Traffic Amid US-Iran Standoff!

·

Global crude oil prices are heating up once again as international benchmark Brent crude surged near $89 per barrel ($88.89) and US WTI crude held above $82, all because the world's most critical oil transit route-the Strait of Hormuz-has ground to an almost complete standstill. With high-stakes diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran deadlocked over sanctions relief and safe passage conditions, global energy markets are bracing for a serious supply crunch.

Physical movement of fuel tankers through the narrow Persian Gulf passage has practically dried up. Oonly five commercial vessels crossed the strait on Saturday, while zero vessels were recorded on Sunday-down from 31 crossings the previous weekend and a far cry from the 130-plus ships that crossed daily before the conflict erupted. Following recent drone and missile strikes targeting oil tankers operated by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), commercial shipping lines and maritime insurance companies are refusing to risk their vessels in contested waters.
