"Hostile to Kim Jong Un!" Donald Trump Orders Pentagon to Slash Joint Military Drills With South Korea, Blames Seoul’s Refusal in Iran War!

In a dramatic geopolitical shift that has sent shockwaves across East Asia, US President Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon to "substantially reduce" the scale of planned joint military exercises with South Korea just hours before they were scheduled to kick off. Announcing the directive on his Truth Social platform, Trump instructed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to cut back the 10-day drills, declaring that the joint war games are overly expensive for Washington and send a "totally inappropriate and hostile" message to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The annual Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises were scheduled to run from August 17 to 27, involving roughly 18,000 South Korean troops alongside US forces to simulate defenses against drone attacks, GPS jamming, and cyber warfare. While the exercises could not be scrapped entirely on zero notice, Trump insisted that Pyongyang has remained "unthreatening and respectful" toward him and argued that large-scale war games needlessly antagonize North Korea.

In addition to citing his personal rapport with Kim Jong Un, Trump linked the scale-back directly to Seoul’s reluctance to back Washington in the Middle East. Trump revealed that he had recently asked the South Korean government to join US efforts regarding Iran, but Seoul declined, saying "No thanks!".
