"No More Standing in Court Lines!" Justice Is Now Just a Few Clicks Away as e-Filing 3.0 Transforms Indian Courts 24x7!
Going to court in India has long meant carrying heavy bundles of paperwork, travelling long distances, and standing in exhausting queues for hours just to submit a single legal petition. To end this everyday struggle for ordinary citizens and advocates, the Indian judiciary alongside the Department of Justice has expanded the digital e-Filing 3.0 platform across High Courts and District Courts nationwide. Under the slogan "Justice is now just a few clicks away," anyone can now register fresh civil or criminal cases, submit applications, and upload legal documents through the eCourts eFiling portal round the clock from anywhere, removing the need to physically visit court filing counters.
The entire filing workflow has been made completely digital and paperless, saving ordinary litigants massive printing and travel expenses. Through secure digital logins, lawyers and clients can execute Vakalatnama, sign documents remotely via Aadhaar or digital e-signatures, record official oaths over video, and pay mandatory court fees or fines instantly using integrated online payment gateways. Litigants can also manage and track all their active cases in real time, making legal proceedings far more transparent and affordable for everyday families.
To ensure technology does not leave rural citizens or non-tech-savvy people behind, the platform operates in multiple Indian languages and is supported by over a thousand physical eSewa Kendras set up inside district court complexes. These centers provide free assistance with scanning paperwork, submitting online petitions, and checking real-time hearing dates via the eCourts mobile app and the National Judicial Data Grid, ensuring modern justice is universally accessible across the country.
