"You Will Grow Old in 30 Years!" RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Warns Gen Z Not to Be Selfish, Urges Focus on Next Generation!

In a direct address to India's youth on Independence Day, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat advised Gen Z not to stay trapped in self-interest, reminding them that today's youth will advance in age and grow old after 30 years. Speaking at an event organized by the Lokmat Media Group at Kasturchand Park in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Bhagwat emphasized that young citizens must remain sensitive and considerate towards the needs of the future generation that will follow them.

Bhagwat described the country’s massive young population as a critical "demographic dividend". He warned that if young minds are nurtured with the right values and skills, they can power India’s ambition to become a global leader (Vishwaguru); however, if their potential is mishandled or neglected, they could turn into a severe economic and social burden on society three decades down the line.

The RSS chief also urged youth to change how they view work and careers. Bhagwat asserted that employment should not be viewed merely as securing desk jobs, calling for greater dignity and respect for manual labor, skilled craftsmanship, and risk-taking entrepreneurship. He stressed that young Indians must look beyond purely materialistic pursuits, build the resilience to overcome setbacks, and create productive enterprises rather than solely chasing paychecks.

Urging the country not to blindly copy Western models, Bhagwat stated that India has distinct realities - including a large population and unique resource constraints-meaning it must establish its own indigenous benchmarks for progress rather than measuring itself against nations like the US, China, Australia, or Canada. While emphasizing that peaceful democratic debate and public movements are vital for societal well-being, he underlined that dialogue must always remain firmly anchored within the framework of the Constitution and national laws.
