Huge Diplomatic Scoop! Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Heading to New Delhi for Mega BRICS Summit Amid High Global Tensions!
In a major geopolitical development, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to travel to New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Summit scheduled to take place in September. Pezeshkian will join a high-powered gathering of world leaders-including Russian President Vladimir Putin-as India hosts the summit under its 2026 chairship under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability".
The high-profile visit comes at an extraordinarily sensitive time, with West Asia caught in sharp military confrontations and heightened tensions over strategic trade routes like the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, which became a full BRICS member alongside nations like the UAE, Egypt, and Ethiopia, has increasingly looked toward New Delhi as a credible, neutral global peacemaker. Earlier in June, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi visited India for the preparatory foreign ministers' meeting, emphasizing that Tehran seeks negotiated diplomatic solutions rather than prolonged armed conflict and would strongly welcome an active, constructive peacemaking role from India.
