Shocking Raid! Fungus Veggies and Rotten Meat Found in Bengaluru’s Top 5-Star Hotels!

In a massive shocker for Bengaluru residents, food safety officials recently raided some of the city's most expensive and luxurious 5-star hotels, only to find kitchens filled with expired milk, rotten meat, and vegetables covered in fungus. The Karnataka Health Department deployed 30 special teams to inspect these high-end restaurants where customers pay thousands of rupees for a single meal. What they discovered was a complete nightmare for any food lover, as premium hotels were caught severely violating basic health and hygiene rules, ignoring the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) guidelines highlighted by NDTV Profit.
During the massive crackdown, authorities seized and destroyed hundreds of kilos of stale and dangerous food from some of the biggest names in the hospitality industry.Officials at The Lalit Ashok (Annex South) caught a massive haul, destroying 76 kg of meat, 200 kg of vegetables, and 32 liters of expired milk. The horror did not stop there; inspectors confiscated 15 kg of meat from the famous Shangri-La hotel and another 19 kg of meat from the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel. Even the Vivanta Bengaluru Whitefield was caught storing three kilos of expired bakery products, which Livemint reported were quickly seized and destroyed on the spot.
Other renowned luxury properties were also caught red-handed storing massive amounts of unsafe food items. At the popular Taj Yeshwantpur, food safety teams seized 72 kg of questionable meat and fish. Meanwhile, Radisson Blu (The Atria) faced one of the biggest seizures, with authorities confiscating a staggering 105 kg of expired food articles right from their kitchens. The government has issued strict warning notices to all these top-tier hotels and sent 35 collected food samples for laboratory testing, proving that paying a massive 5-star bill does not always guarantee a safe and healthy meal for the common man.
