President Trump stated that he has already given orders to the U.S. military, which he described as "ready, willing, and able" to conduct operations for at least one year, subject to extension. He warned that this military force is prepared to "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran" if an assassination attempt is carried out.

The heightened rhetoric follows reports of open calls for the killing of President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the funeral processions for the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
